Urea Fertilizer Grade Testing (IS: 5406)
Universal Testing & Research Center (Division of Sustainable Stewardship Private Limited), an ISO 17025:2017 certified Laboratory approved by BIS, NABL and QAI.Testing of urea fertilizer grade involves various assessments to ensure the product's quality, compliance with standards, and suitability for agricultural applications.
Quality Tests Parameters:
- Nitrogen Content:
Measure the nitrogen content in urea, as it is a crucial component for fertilizers. Urea typically contains about 46% nitrogen. - Biuret Content:
Check for the presence of biuret, which is a urea byproduct. High levels of biuret can be undesirable in fertilizers as it may have negative effects on plant health. - Moisture Content:
Assess the moisture content to ensure it is within acceptable limits. Excessive moisture can impact the quality and handling characteristics of the fertilizer. - Particle Size Distribution:
Determine the particle size distribution to ensure uniformity and proper spreading of the fertilizer in agricultural applications. - Ammonium Nitrate Content:
Check for the presence of ammonium nitrate, which can result from the degradation of urea. Elevated levels of ammonium nitrate may affect the fertilizer's stability. - Granule Hardness:
Evaluate the hardness of urea granules to assess their resistance to breakage during handling and transportation. - Bulk Density:
Measure the bulk density to evaluate the flowability and handling characteristics of the urea fertilizer. - pH Value:
Assess the pH value of the urea fertilizer to ensure it is suitable for soil application. - Stability Testing:
Conduct stability tests to ensure that the urea fertilizer remains stable under various storage conditions. - Impurities:
Check for impurities, such as foreign particles, dust, or contaminants that may affect the fertilizer's quality. - Appearance:
Evaluate the visual appearance of the urea fertilizer, checking for color, odor, and any abnormalities that may indicate degradation or contamination.
