Universal Testing & Research Center (Division of Sustainable Stewardship Private Limited), an ISO 17025:2017 certified Laboratory approved by BIS, NABL and QAI. We are provide complete solution of the testing requirement of wood industries. ASTM D6007 - Standard Test Method for Determining Formaldehyde Concentrations in Air and Emission Rates from Wood Products Using a small Chamber:

    • Applicability: This test method is commonly used for evaluating the formaldehyde emissions from wood products such as plywood, particleboard, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF).
    • Chamber Testing: The method involves placing the wood product in a controlled environmental chamber, allowing for the measurement of formaldehyde concentrations over time.
    • Sampling and Analysis: The standard outlines procedures for sample preparation, sample placement, and the collection and analysis of air samples to determine formaldehyde concentrations.
    • Calibration: The calibration of instruments used in the testing process is addressed to ensure accurate and reliable results.
    • Calculation of Emission Rates: The emission rates of formaldehyde from the wood product are calculated based on the concentrations measured during the test.
    • Quality Control: Procedures for quality control and quality assurance are typically included in the standard to ensure the reliability of the test results.

We are provide complete solution of the testing requirement of wood industries. EN 717-1:2004 is a European standard that specifies a method for the determination of the formaldehyde content of wood-based panels. This standard is part of a series of European standards related to formaldehyde emission from wood-based panels, which are widely used in construction and furniture manufacturing.

    • Applicability: The standard is applicable to different types of wood-based panels, including those used in the construction and furniture industries.
    • Chamber Method: The formaldehyde emission is determined by using a chamber method, where the wood-based panel is placed in a test chamber under controlled conditions. Formaldehyde released from the specimen is collected in a sorbent solution, and the concentration is subsequently analysed.
    • Expression of Results: Results are typically expressed as the amount of formaldehyde released per unit area of the specimen over a specified time period. Requirements for Sampling:The standard provides guidelines for sampling and preparing test specimens.
    • Calibration and Quality Control: Procedures for calibration of instruments and quality control are included to ensure the reliability of the test results.
    • Reference Temperature and Humidity: The standard specifies reference temperature and humidity conditions during testing.
    • Units of Measurement: The units of measurement for formaldehyde emissions are typically given in milligrams per square meter.

  • Universal Testing & Research Center (Division of Sustainable Stewardship Private Limited), an ISO 17025:2017 certified Laboratory approved by BIS, NABL and QAI. We are provide complete solution of the testing requirement of wood industries. ASTM D5582 provides a method for determining formaldehyde concentrations in the air and emission rates from wood products using a small-scale desiccator chamber.

    • Applicability: This test method is commonly used for evaluating formaldehyde emissions from wood products such as plywood, particleboard, and medium-density fiberboard (MDF).
    • Desiccator Method: The test involves placing a specimen of the wood product inside a desiccator chamber along with a formaldehyde-absorbing medium. The formaldehyde is absorbed by the medium, and the concentration is subsequently analyzed.
    • Sampling and Analysis: Procedures for sample preparation, sample placement, and the collection and analysis of air samples are outlined to determine formaldehyde concentrations.
    • Calibration: Calibration procedures for the instruments used in the testing process are addressed to ensure accurate and reliable results.

The test for determination of quantity of formaldehyde emitted from building boards by desiccator method is carried out by using the glass desiccator. The emitted quantity of formaldehyde is obtained from the concentration of formaldehyde absorbed in distilled water measured 24 h under the controlled temperature.

    • Calibration: Calibration procedures for the instruments used in the testing process are addressed to ensure accurate and reliable results.
    • Calculation of Emission Rates: The emission rates of formaldehyde from the wood product are calculated based on the concentrations measured during the test.
    • Quality Control: Procedures for quality control and quality assurance are typically included in the standard to ensure the reliability of the test results.
